What does SIL mean at the Leumeah home?
SIL (Supported Independent Living) is NDIS funding for the support staff who help you with everyday tasks at home.
The Leumeah home has been designed for accessible living and is backed by a steady, dedicated support team.
What will I pay to live at the Leumeah home?
Your support staff are funded through your NDIS plan, so you don't pay for them out of pocket.
As a tenant, you pay rent plus your own day-to-day costs, such as groceries, utilities, phone and personal items. What that comes to depends on your income and plan, and our team is happy to go through the numbers with you.
Who can live at the Leumeah home?
SIL suits participants who need support with daily tasks for much of the day and would do well in a shared, supported home.
An occupational therapist's functional capacity assessment is usually part of the request. Your support coordinator or LAC can help get this started, and we're glad to talk you through it.
Support coordinators and LACs across Campbelltown and Macarthur are welcome to get in touch about a referral.
How quickly could I move in?
Mostly it comes down to your NDIS funding. If SIL is already approved in your plan and we have a suitable vacancy at Leumeah, you could move in within 2 weeks.
If SIL isn't in your plan yet, you'll first need a plan reassessment from the NDIA, which can take a little longer. We can work alongside you and your support coordinator to have the paperwork ready in the meantime.
Where is the Leumeah home and what's close by?
The home is in Leumeah, part of the Campbelltown area in South Western Sydney. Leumeah Shopping Centre is roughly a 6 minute walk away, Campbelltown Mall about a 5 minute drive, and Campbelltown Hospital around an 8 minute drive.
We have a home in Rooty Hill too. Browse all our homes.
How close is public transport?
Very close. Leumeah train station is around an 8 minute walk from the home, with services to Campbelltown and the Sydney CBD.
Can I look through the home before I decide?
Absolutely. Participants and families are always welcome to visit before making a decision. Send an enquiry or call 1800 373 266 and we'll arrange a time for you to see the home and meet the team.
