Frequently Asked Questions About Our Leumeah SIL Home

What is SIL at the Leumeah home?

SIL (Supported Independent Living) funds the support, staff helping you with daily tasks.

Our Leumeah home is purpose-built for accessible SIL living, with a consistent, dedicated support team.

How much does it cost to live in the Leumeah home?

SIL support is funded through your NDIS plan, so you do not pay for your support staff yourself.

As a tenant at our Leumeah home, you pay rent and cover everyday living costs such as food, utilities, phone and personal items. The exact amount depends on your income and plan, so our team can walk you through your figures.

Who is eligible to live in the Leumeah home?

SIL is for participants who need help with daily tasks for a large part of the day and would benefit from living in a shared, supported home.

A functional capacity assessment from an occupational therapist is usually needed as part of the request. Your support coordinator or LAC can help start this, and we are happy to talk it through with you.

Support coordinators and LACs in the Campbelltown and Macarthur area are welcome to contact us about a referral.

How soon can I move into the Leumeah home?

It mostly depends on your NDIS funding. If SIL funding is already approved in your plan and we have a suitable vacancy at Leumeah, moving in can happen within 2 weeks.

If your plan does not include SIL yet, you will first need a plan reassessment from the NDIA, which can take longer. Our team can work with you and your support coordinator to get the paperwork ready while that happens.

Where is the Leumeah home, and what's nearby?

Our home is in Leumeah, in the Campbelltown area of South Western Sydney. It is about a 5 minute walk from Leumeah Shopping Centre, with Campbelltown Mall around a 6 minute drive and Campbelltown Hospital around a 9 minute drive away.

We also have homes in Rooty Hill and Oran Park. See all our homes.

Is the Leumeah home close to public transport?

Yes. Leumeah train station is about a 6 minute walk from the home, with trains to Campbelltown and the Sydney CBD.

Can I visit the Leumeah home before deciding?

Yes. Participants and families are always welcome to visit before committing. Send an enquiry or call 1800 373 266 and we will arrange a time to see the home and meet the team.
